If you live in NJ and meet the income guidelines, you may qualify for the Home Weatherization for Income-Qualified Customers program, which provides no-cost home weatherization services that can make your home more comfortable, safer, and more energy-efficient.
Qualified households can receive:
- A free home energy assessment
- Up to $14,000 in energy-efficient home upgrades at no cost to you
- Up to $2,500 in health & safety improvements at no cost to you
That’s up to $16,500 in total improvements at no cost to you, funded through New Jersey’s public utilities.
What’s Included at No Cost?
Depending on your eligibility and home needs, you may receive:
- Free Home Energy Assessment: A certified energy professional visits your home and identifies where you’re losing energy and how to improve comfort.
- Insulation Upgrades: Better insulation helps keep your home warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and reduces energy use.
- Air Sealing: We seal gaps and cracks where air escapes, improving comfort and efficiency.
- Health & Safety Improvements: Up to $2,500 in upgrades that can support indoor air quality and help reduce potential hazards.
All services are provided at no cost to income-qualified households.
Who Qualifies for Free Weatherization?
You may be eligible if:
- You live in New Jersey
- Your household income meets program guidelines (see below)
- You live in a single-family home, condo/townhome, or small multi-unit building (under 4 units)
- Your home is suitable for efficiency upgrades (we’ll confirm during your assessment)
Renters can qualify too — landlord permission is required for upgrades.
